
If anyone can point me in the direction of what I seek, I'd appreciate it.

I know Drive is an option I'm currently creating a full backup on drive, but I don't want to rely just on Cloud-based backups. The Files app in Chromebook is useless it will just create a carbon copy of an existing folder, and I'm not sure if there is another file manager that will do what I need. However, I have not yet found a good equivalent for Chromebook. All versions of SyncBack let you sync select files and folders, back up to FTP, compress files. Several versions of this program are available, each with different features, including SyncBackFree, SyncBack Lite, SyncBackSE, and SyncBackPro. Having SyncBackFree was a massive time-saver, being able to just add any changes/new files/folders to the destination drive was great. SyncBack is a syncing application that you install on computers you want to back up and synchronize. SyncbackFree being one of these I am an Independent Language Trainer and have always had the habit of backing up my pro laptop several times a month onto several external hard drives I'm somewhat paranoid about losing my 'professional life' if the laptop goes south.

However, there are certain Windows Apps that I haven't yet found an equivalent for. Recent convert to Chromebook, even better than I thought it would be.
